We are a small locally based charity (Registration No. NI 38336) which is run totally by volunteers. The aims and objectives of this charity are to help and support abandoned and orphaned children of Romania. We also contribute to many aspects of the communities we work in. We cannot cover everywhere or all the children in Romania because of the vast size of the country, 88935 square miles with a population of 23 million people. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
We believe that the best way to help is to concentrate on certain areas and put all our efforts into these areas to make a discernible difference in the lives of those children with whom we work. Aid for Romanian Children have organised many trip's and we feel we now have the full support and trust of all the Romanian orphanage staff and government officials with whom we work closely to plan and organise our aid trips. Every trip requires a substantial amount of planning and organising over a period of up to a year, the main areas being assessing needs, collecting and packing aid, arranging transport and drivers and arranging travel, accommodation and insurance cover for the team (all paid personally by the team members). In addition, a number of fund raising events are organised throughout the year to purchase much needed medical and other material aid. |
